Bluesun Methylene Blue: What Amazon's Own Records Show

Bluesun sells methylene blue capsules and liquid drops on Amazon and on its own site (bluesun.bio). The capsules passed our independent water test, turning water the deep blue you expect from genuine methylene blue. But per Nutricel's filed Amazon Brand Registry reports, both Bluesun listings carry documented fake-review, listing-violation, and FDA-labeling-noncompliance flags, and notes on file indicate Amazon acknowledged the capsule listing should be removed, yet it remained active as of the database's last update. Current verdict in Nutricel's lab-test database: Avoid.

• Passed the water test, not yet lab-assayed. Bluesun's 90-count, 12 mg capsules produced a deep blue water-test result, but the actual milligram dose has not been confirmed by an independent lab assay.
• Documented Amazon Brand Registry flags. Both the capsule listing (ASIN B0F2MJJ7TW) and the drops listing (ASIN B0F2M2XYL3) are flagged for fake reviews, a listing violation, and FDA labeling noncompliance.
• A real, operating site, but limited transparency. Bluesun runs a full storefront with a real product catalog, though it does not publicly name founders, disclose a business address, or identify its manufacturer.

Important: An FDA drug safety communication warns about serious reactions when methylene blue is combined with serotonergic medications, including SSRIs and MAOIs. Review the full adverse medications list before use, regardless of brand.

Bluesun operates its own e-commerce site, bluesun.bio, with a full product catalog and working checkout, selling methylene blue drops, capsules, sprays, and a companion cayenne pepper product. So Bluesun is a real, operating business, not an anonymous Amazon-only drop-shipper.

What the site does not do is name specific founders, disclose a business address, or identify its manufacturer. Its own "About" page describes a general mission around purity and testing without any of those specifics, so they cannot be independently confirmed from the site alone.

Bluesun sells two methylene blue products on Amazon: a 90-count, 12 mg capsule (ASIN B0F2MJJ7TW) and a 1% liquid drops formula (ASIN B0F2M2XYL3). The capsule listing has accumulated 2,163 ratings at a 4.2-star average, making it one of the most-reviewed methylene blue listings tracked in Nutricel's lab-test database. With that many buyers and a working company site, this is not an obvious scam, which is why we think the listing issues are worth walking through carefully.

We filed Amazon Brand Registry reports on both Bluesun listings, and both carry the same three documented flags: fake reviews, a listing violation, and FDA labeling noncompliance (a marketing and labeling claims issue). Notes on file indicate Amazon acknowledged that the capsule ASIN should be removed, yet the listing remained active as of the lab-test database's last update on July 14, 2026.

None of this says the product inside the bottle is unsafe, and the capsules did pass our water test. It says the Amazon listing itself has documented problems, separate from what is in the capsule, and you should weigh them before buying through that listing.

People use these three terms loosely online. Here is what each one covers on Amazon:

• Fake reviews. Reviews that violate Amazon's Community Guidelines, including incentivized reviews that were not disclosed, reviews from accounts with no history of purchasing the product, or coordinated review activity designed to inflate a rating.
• Listing violation. A catch-all category covering issues with how a product is represented on its detail page, such as misleading claims, incorrect categorization, or content that does not match what is actually being sold.
• FDA labeling noncompliance. Marketing or label language that crosses into disease-treatment or diagnostic claims a dietary supplement is not permitted to make, or that omits information required on a supplement label.

All three are about how a product is sold and marketed. None of them measures what is in the bottle, which is why we run water and lab tests as a separate check.

Our database uses two separate checks. In the water test, we dissolve the product and look for the deep blue color genuine methylene blue produces; a weak or off-color result points to a low or diluted dose. In the lab test, we send the product to a third-party lab to measure the actual milligrams against the label claim. A product needs to pass both to earn a Recommended result.

Bluesun's capsules have only cleared the first check. The water test is a real, positive signal, but it cannot confirm the full 12 mg on the label. Only an independent lab assay can do that, so until one is done, the dose in each capsule is unverified. That sits on top of the separate Amazon listing issues above.

You can do a basic check on any supplement listing yourself in a few minutes, no Brand Registry access needed. Here is what we look at:

• A review burst. Sort by most recent and check whether a large cluster of five-star reviews landed within the same few days or weeks, rather than spreading naturally over the listing's lifetime.
• Repeated phrasing. Several reviews using near-identical language or structure is a common sign of incentivized or coordinated reviews.
• Low Verified Purchase share. Compare how many reviews carry Amazon's Verified Purchase badge against the total count. A large gap is worth noticing.
• No photos, no specifics. Genuine long-term users of a supplement tend to mention dose, timing, or how they use a product. A wall of generic praise with no photos or detail is a weaker signal of real use.

No single signal proves manipulation. When several show up on one listing, check that brand's independent testing status in the database below before you buy.

Do not take methylene blue, from any brand, if you are currently using:

• SSRIs or MAOIs (the FDA warns of serious reactions, including serotonin syndrome)
• Any serotonergic medication
