What Is Blue Remove? Nutricel's Methylene Blue Detox Formula

• Activated Zeolite Clinoptilolite (560mg) is a porous mineral that stays in the gut. Kraljevic Pavelic and colleagues (2018) review research on it binding metals and other charged compounds as it passes through, without being absorbed into the blood.
• Nattokinase (450mg) and Bromelain (280mg) are protein-digesting enzymes used for healthy circulation. Fujita and colleagues (1995) showed nattokinase breaking down fibrin, the protein in blood clots, in rats.
• Turmeric Extract at 95%+ curcuminoids (560mg) comes with Black Pepper Extract (6mg), which Shoba and colleagues (1998) found raised curcumin absorption in people. NAC (280mg) is the building block the body uses to make glutathione, per a 2021 review by Tenorio and colleagues.
• USP-grade Methylene Blue (8mg) is what ties it to the rest of our line. Rojas and colleagues (2012) describe it carrying electrons in the mitochondria, the part of the cell that makes energy.

We built it for people who already like methylene blue and want circulation, antioxidant, and inflammatory-response support in the same daily serving. Every ingredient is on the label with its amount, so you can check what you are getting.

The label groups the formula into three layers: Zeolite for Remove, Nattokinase for Restore, and Turmeric for Replenish. Those are the headline ingredients. N-Acetyl L-Cysteine (NAC), Bromelain, and Black Pepper Extract fill out the rest.

One serving is 6 capsules, and a bottle holds 10 servings. When we chose the enzymes, we drew on the Dr. McCullough Protocol, a regimen from cardiologist Dr. Peter McCullough built around enzyme and antioxidant ingredients. The nattokinase, bromelain, and NAC in Blue Remove follow that protocol's structure.

Zeolite clinoptilolite is a natural mineral with a cage-like, porous structure and a negative charge, so positively charged metals like lead, mercury, and cadmium can get held inside it. Kraljevic Pavelic and colleagues (2018) describe clinoptilolite as not absorbed into the bloodstream: it binds in the gut and leaves the body with everything else. Much of the published research is lab and animal work, so we describe it as a gut-binding ingredient and nothing more.

The zeolite in Blue Remove is activated, micronized, cleaned, and ionized before it goes in the capsule. Micronizing grinds it finer, which adds surface area, and surface is where the binding happens. That processing is what separates it from raw zeolite powder.

N-Acetyl L-Cysteine (NAC) works inside the cell instead of in the gut. Tenorio and colleagues (2021) describe NAC as a source of cysteine, the building block the body needs to make glutathione, one of its main antioxidants. Glutathione swallowed as-is mostly breaks down in the gut, which is why NAC is the usual route. Atkuri and colleagues (2007) describe NAC as a dependable way to restore cysteine and glutathione when they run low.

Tenorio's 2021 review collects the human research on NAC and glutathione. At 280mg per serving, the amount in Blue Remove is a modest daily one.

Nattokinase is an enzyme from natto, a fermented soybean food eaten in Japan for centuries. It breaks down fibrin, the protein mesh that holds a blood clot together, which is why people take it for healthy circulation. Fujita and colleagues (1995) showed that effect in rats, and Kim and colleagues (2008) later ran a randomized trial in people. That is roughly where the evidence sits: animal work plus a few small human trials.

The nattokinase in Blue Remove is Non-GMO, 450mg per serving. It is in the formula because the Dr. McCullough Protocol puts nattokinase at the center for circulation.

Bromelain is an enzyme from pineapple stem (Ananas comosus). Like nattokinase it breaks down proteins, but it works on different ones. Rathnavelu and colleagues (2016) review studies where bromelain lowered inflammatory signals and helped tissue recovery, which is why we paired the two.

So the Restore layer covers circulation two ways: nattokinase for fibrin, and bromelain for broader protein breakdown and the body's normal inflammatory response. Circulation also matters for the rest of the capsule, since blood is how everything else gets around.

Turmeric Extract standardized to 95%+ curcuminoids is the main ingredient in this layer, at 560mg per serving. Its active compound is curcumin, and Aggarwal and colleagues (2007) describe it turning down NF-kB, a switch inside cells that turns on inflammatory signals like IL-6, TNF-alpha, and COX-2. Jurenka's 2009 review collects both the lab and the human studies on that pathway.

Curcumin's known weak spot is absorption: the gut and liver break most of it down before it reaches the blood. Black Pepper Extract (piperine, 6mg) is there for that. Shoba and colleagues (1998) gave volunteers curcumin with piperine and measured up to 2,000% more curcumin in the blood than with curcumin alone. It was a small single-dose study, but it is the reason we included black pepper.

USP-grade Methylene Blue (8mg) is the ingredient Blue Remove shares with the rest of our line. Your cells make energy by passing electrons down a chain in the mitochondria, and Rojas and colleagues (2012) describe methylene blue stepping into that chain and carrying electrons itself. Atamna and colleagues (2008) found it improved mitochondrial function in human cells grown in a lab, which is early evidence, not a result in people. Our methylene blue is USP grade and tested for heavy metals and purity by independent third-party labs.

Blue Remove is not for everyone, and the reasons come from three of its ingredients. The FDA label for methylene blue injection (Provayblue) carries a boxed warning about serotonin syndrome with serotonergic medications, and nattokinase and bromelain add a blood-clotting concern on top of that.

Do not take this product if you are currently using:

• SSRIs or MAOIs (the FDA label warns of serotonin syndrome)
• SNRIs or other serotonergic medications such as tramadol, trazodone, or bupropion
• Warfarin, aspirin, heparin, or other anticoagulant or antiplatelet medications
• Blood pressure medications
• St. John's Wort, 5-HTP, or SAMe

It is also not for pregnant or nursing women. The Provayblue label warns that methylene blue can cause hemolytic anemia in people with G6PD deficiency, so they should not take it. If you have a soy allergy, note that nattokinase comes from fermented soy.
